One night holiday

About three weeks ago my hostfamily and me spent one night in a spa hotel in Surfers Paradise, just to be somewhere instead of home. Over that we've actually planned to go to the Sunshine Coast into a resort... but the weather thwarted our plans, because it was not really sunny for the whole week, but also not really bad though. But if you go to this resort, you should have nice weather, because there are lot of outdoor and water activities.

Anyway we left home at midday, checked in the hotel, had a nice day there (with a nice view from the 19th level), used the facilities, had some drinks and a lovely dinner in Surfers Paradise with a view to the ocean and spent the night there by watching a cool movie. The next morning we had a bit of breakfast and went home again.

Ungefähr vor 3 Wochen haben meine Gastfamilie und ich eine Nacht in einem Wellnesshotel in Surfers Paradise verbracht, einfach nur um mal von zu Hause raus zu kommen. Ausserdem haben wir eigentlich geplant in ein Resort an die Sunshine Coast zu fahren, aber das Wetter hat uns ein bisschen einen Strich durch die Rechnung gezogen, da es nicht wirklich sonnig, aber trotzdem auch nicht unbedingt sehr schlecht war. Aber wenn man halt dahin, in dieses Resort fährt, sollte man schon gutes Wetter haben, da man dort viele Outdoor- und Wasseractivities macht.

Naja, wie auch immer, wir sind mittags von daheim losgefahren, ins Hotel eingecheckt, einen schönen Tag dort verbracht (mit Blick vom 19. Stockwerk), die Einrichtungen da genutzt, ein paar Drinks und ein gutes Dinner in Surfers Paradise gehabt, mit Blick auf Ozean und die Nacht dort verbracht, indem wir einen coolen Film geguckt haben. Nächsten Morgen hatten wir ein kleines Frühstück und sind wieder heim.

Hotel Spa

Some luxury hotels got no receptionist in the lobby, what gives locals like us the opportunity to use the spa facilities... well not known by the hotel owners though. What you need to do is to wait for a real guest, who opens the door and in you are. You enter the lift, go to level 6, where the spa area is and have a nice day. On this particular hotel is a wonderful pool area, with own beach on top of the 6th level and has got also indoor pools and jacuzzis. It was wonderful, with the view over Surfers Paradise.

Einige Luxushotels haben keine Rezeptionisten in der Lobby, was Locals wie uns die Möglichkeit gibt die Wellnesseinrichtungen zu nuten... naja, halt trotzdem unbewusst vom Besitzer. Was man tun muss, ist auf einen echten Gast zu warten, der die Eingangstür öffnet und schon bist du drin. Du nimmst den Lift in Stockwerk 6, wo der Wellnessbereich ist und machst dir einen schönen Tag. In diesem bestimmten Hotel gibt es eine wunderschöne Poollandschaft, mit eigenem Strand auf dem Dach der sechsten Etage und hat daneben noch Indoor Pools und Whirlpools. Es war geil, mit dem hammer Blick über Surfers Paradise.

Christmas Lights

You can find some really nice decorated houses at xmas around the Coast, and there are even contests. One house was really special. It's owned by a gay couple and they have been winning the contest over years. And I must say, that house was just awesome. I guess the whole decoration costs about ten thousands of dollars... not thinking about the electricity bill.

Über Weihnachten kann man einige echt schön dekorierte Häuser an der ganzen Coast finden und es gibt sogar Wettbewerbe dafür. Ein Haus sticht ganz besonders hervor. Es gehört einem schwulen Paar und das hat den Wettbewerb über Jahre hinweg gewonnen. Und ich muss schon sagen, das Haus ist der Wahnsinn. Ich schätze den Wert der ganzen Dekoration auf einige Zehntausend Dollar... und nicht die Stromrechnung zu vergessen.

Christmas in Australia

Xmas here is more about doing nothing and relax instead of the german christmas spirit to be good and grateful. The 24th does not celebrated at all... sometimes families have a big christmas dinner though. We did not, but what we had was the handing out of presents on the morning of the 25th and a big lunch at a restaurant with the family (but without Chris as he drove up to Brisbane to his mother and other relatives), an older couple, what are good friends of Gina and their daughter with husband. The lunch was apparently really good, we had thousands of shrimps and lots of other good food from the buffet. But anyhow, the family was not as relaxed as I was used to. There was a bit arguments, but it was really nice though. After lunch, we went to another friends of Gina, who just got grandparents, so there was the baby with it's parents as well. Chris also caught up with us there. We had a couple of drinks and went home, where we only had a light dinner (pasta and pizza) and watched movies after that. The second boxing day was nothing special as well. We were home, watched some movies, but had no special dinner or anything like that. Unfortunately this year's christmas was a bit unlucky with the weather. Instead of sunshine and heat, it was rainy, but warm though. Anyway we could not jump in the pool or have a nice picnic at the beach, like it is done usually.

Rainy afternoons

In this days we got some rainy, and I mean really really raining (PISSING), days, but it doesn't really matter. Can also be nice to watch thousands of movies or play Playstation with your host dad while you eat a bloody beautful greasing sandwich!!

Da es zur Zeit oefters mal regnet, und ich meine wirklich wirklich regnet (PISST), aber was soll's. Kann auch ganz geil sein tausend Filme zu schauen oder Playstation mit deinem Gastvater zu spielen waehrend du ein verdammt hammer, triefendes Sandwich isst!!

Christmas Traditions

No calendar, no advent-candles, no snow... but I'm fine with the sun haha. At least they decorate like home and got a real christmas tree, actually a fake of course, but it looks real haha. And some houses got this lights like in USA, that's so cool!

Kein Kalender, keine Adventskerzen, kein Schnee... aber ich habe eigentlich auch kein Problem mit der Sonne haha. Immerhin dekorieren sie wie zuhause und haben einen echten Weihnachtsbaum, der zwar Fake ist, aber immerhin echt aussieht haha. Und ein paar Häuser sind beleuchtet wie in den USA, das ist geil!

Jogging

I want to stay sporting at least a little bit, and so I started to a run again. It's only a track from 8km once a week, up the Burleigh Hill, down to Tallebudgerra, along the Highway to the Beach, following it to the Hill at North Burleigh Surfclub, running up the Miami Hill and come back, but it is at least something. Although I actually do a lot of sports here like surfing and skateboarding...

Ich will immerhin ein wenig sportlich bleiben und so habe ich mal wieder das Rennen angefangen. Ist zwar nur eine Strecke von 8 Km einmal die Woche, den Burleigh Hill hoch, runter nach Tallebudgerra, den Highway entlag zum Strand, dem ich dann folge bis zum Hill am North Burleigh Surfclub, renne ab den Miami Hill und komme zurück, aber es ist immerhin etwas. Obwohl ich hier eigentlich ziemlich viel Sport mache wie z.B. Surfen und Skateboarden...

Sick

From monday on I was lying home sick with fever in my bed and did not do anything else but watching movies... Luckily it was rainy shit weather and I didn't miss anything. Gina nursed me back to health very quick, so that I was fit after three days ;)

Von Montag an lag ich krank im Bett mit Fieber und habe nix anderes gemacht, ausser Filme zu schauen... Immerhin war es so ein regnerisches Mistwetter und ich habe nicht gross was verpasst. Gina hat mich auch schnell wieder gesund gepflegt, sodass ich nach nur 3 Tagen wieder fit war ;)

Everyone is leaving :(

Most of the Internationals are leaving this week... That's really sad, especially because I don't really have the chance to see them again, because I'm home, sick. At least Thomas visited me yesterday night and said good bye, before he left to Brisbane today and caught his plane, what is leaving about right now... Tomorrow my hostsister Eveyln (who came for three weeks, because she couldn't stand it in her old host family anymore) is leaving, too. Not only them, but 90% of the group is leaving, that's pretty sad.

Die meisten Austauschschüler fliegen diese Woche... Das ist wirklich schade, besonders weil ich bei den meisten nicht wirklich die Chance habe sie nochmal vorher zu sehen, weil ich zuhause liege, krank. Immerhin hat mich Thomas gestern Abend nochmal besucht und Tschüss gesagt, bevor er heute nach Brisbane auf ist und seinen Flug erwischt hat, der ungefähr genau jetzt gerade abhebt... Morgen fliegt auch meine Gastschwester Evely (die nochmal für drei Wochen kam, weil sie es in ihrer alten Gastfamilie nicht mehr aushalten konnte). Nicht nur die, sondern 90% der Gruppe verlässt Australien, das ist ziemlich traurig.

Sick

Great, I lie with fever in my bed, can't sleep in the night, toss and turn and feel weak. I became pretty sick, infected myself probably by some one else. And believe me, fever in such a humidity is no fun! At least I don't miss anything, because it's cloudy... And Gina cares for me a lot!

Super, ich liege mit Fieber im Bett, kann nachts nicht schlafen, wälze mich nur umher und fühl mich schwach. Ich bin ziemlich krank geworden, habe mich wahrscheinlich bei jemand anderem angesteckt. Und glaubt mir, Fieber bei so einer Luftfeuchtigkeit ist kein Vergnügen! Wenigsten verpasse ich nichts, weil es bewölkt ist... Und Gina kümmert sich ganz ganz lieb um mich!

Daily Business

As you can see, I don't post so much anymore. The reason for that is, that so many things, like surfing, surfing in the morning, beach, theme parks, the different plants and animals and much more became so normal for me, that I don't post about it anymore...

Wie man sieht, poste ich nicht mehr so viel wie vorher. Der Grund dafür ist, dass soviele Dinge, wie Surfen, Surfen am Morgen, Strand, Freizeitparks, die anderen Pflanzen und Tiere und soviel mehr einfach alltäglich für mich geworden ist, dass ich nicht mehr darüber poste....

House boat

Cheryl and Greg invited me for a 4 and a half day lasting trip on a house boat along Tweeds River. We went on Board of that wonderful, huge, 2 leveled boat on monday morning, and started our trip together with Troy, Philipp and an older couple, who are friends of Greg and Cheryl.

Already after half an hour a group of six dolphins crossed our way and came so close to us, wonderful and amazing on that sunny beautiful day, coming along with this paradise looking river besided by palms abd other tropical trees.

In the evening we stopped on a spot, and started to put down the mudcrabs pods. After coming back on the house boat we started to fish as well and had a wonderful barbie this night. Anyway we had a BBQ every morning and evening.

Unfortunately we had no luck with our fishing. Wether we caught fishes with our fishing rods, or with our pods. That's really unusual at this river. Alright, we caught a small fish, maybe about 1 kg and two small crabs, which we had to release though as they were too young yet.

All in all we had wonderful 4 days, were on beautiful spots, went fishing, played poker, were allowed to gp out with the little second boat when ever we wanted to, jumped from the houseboat (about 3 m) into the river, looked for prawns in the total mud, watched movies, relaxed and ate a lot of cookies and muffins. The weather was 50% sunny and 50% cloudy. We had rain only this one morning, but that was not even that bad. Something like that is so relaxing and the places we came along were just bloody beautiful!

School's out!

Because I go on a house boat trip during shut down, the last week before the holidays with all important exams, I had three tests on friday. Easily done after three hours, I went home. Happy and excited looking forward to 9 weeks of holiday! YES!! x

Weil ich ja wahrend des Shutdowns, der letzten Woche vor den Ferien mit allen wichtigen Examen, auf einem Hausboottrip bin, habe ich drei Arbeiten an diesem Freitag.

Turtle

When we had went surfing today during PE lesson the life saver caught a turtle out of the shore! Pretty huge one. I think he said she doesn't get away on her own anymore, so he put her in a wet towel.

Also wir heute während der PE-Lesson surfen waren hat der Lifesaver eine Schildkröte aus dem flachen Meer geholt. 'Ne ziemlich grosse sogar. Ich bin der Meinung, dass er gesagt hatte, dass sie es nicht mehr selber schafft rauszukommen, also hat er sie erstmal in ein feuchtes Handtuch gepackt.

Exams

Cause I'm on a houseboat trip during the shutdown, I have got 4 exams till friday. Today I had physical education, friday I will have english, maths and marine studies. Luckily I don't have to make my salad as an exam for hospitality. Too easy though.

Weil ich ja auf einem Hausboottrip bin während des Shutdowns, habe ich bis Freitag vier Examen. Heute hatte ich schon Physical Education, Freitag schreib ich noch Englisch, Mathe und Marine Studies. Glücklicherweise muss ich meinen Salat als Examen für Hospitality nicht machen. Trotzallem so sau einfach.

120 Metres Freefall

On saturday we went to Dreamworld again. My friends really pushed me do the "Tower of Terror II" and the "Giant Drop", although I really didn't want to hahaha. The first thing is a rollercoaster what shoots you out a pipe backwards with 160 km/h, goes up to 80 Metres in a 90° angle, let ya face the ground and goes back into the pipe. The second one is a freefall-tower, what takes you up to 120 Metres, lets you stay up there for 40 seconds, and drops you into a 4 seconds freefall. You feel so awesome afterwards, the feeling is great!! But I nearly died in the line before the ride hahahaha

Samstag sind wir wieder einmal nach Dreamworld gegangen. Meine Freunde haben mich dazu gekriegt die Rides "Tower of Terror II" und "Giant Drops" zu machen, obwohl ich echt nicht wollte hahaha. Ersteres ist eine Achterbahn, die einen rückwärtes mit 160 km/h aus einer Röhre einen 80 Meter hohen Turm in einen Winkel von 90° raufschiesst und einen dann den Boden anschauend zurück in die Röhre fährt. Zweiteres ist ein Freefall-Tower, der einen in 120 Metern Höhe zieht, ihn dort 40 Sekunden lässt um ihn anschliessend in einen viersekündigen freien Fall zu lassen. Man fühlt sich unbeschreiblich hinterher, das Gefühl ist grossartig!! Aber ich wäre ja fast gestorben in der Schlange vor dem Ride hahahahah

Infinity

It seems we are just not ment to visit the laser show. On friday night we came one minute after it closed, and on saturday we tried it again, were there one hour earlier, but it was still to late. The next time we try to be there at 8!

Sieht fast so aus, als sollten wir einfach nicht die Lasershow sehen. Freitagnacht sind wir eine Minute nach Geschäftszeiten angekommen, Samstag haben wir es noch mal probiert, waren eine Stunde eher da, aber die meinten, es ist immer noch zu spät. Nächstes mal sind wir da um 8!

Insects!!

Oh man... That's what Australia is famous for! Once I sat on the Computer and heard a random noise above my head... I looked up and saw a huuuuuge cockroach walking around the ceiling! I nearly felt off my chair but I needed to be quiet because my hostfamily was already asleep. So I did not know what to do, because I didn't find the spray. Finally, after minutes of fear it flew out. Did ya know those bastards can fly? I did not!!

An other evening Jeremy went to bed. After a while you heard him calling her mother, so Gina came into the room and suddenly there was a big scream! Chris and me, sitting on the couch, looked each other and he decided to look what happened. Apparently, he did not help haha, as he is really scared of those animals. So I came into the room, asked "What's the matter?" and got responded "Look behind you!". I turned around, were shocked and scared and saw the biggest spider I've ever seen in my life. It was a huntsman, not poisonous luckily but as big as my hand though. Scared, we all tried to catch this creature for at least 15 minutes, as Gina didn't want to kill it. At the end we caught her and put it to the neighbours haha.

Yesterday night I was thirsty, went to the kitchen, turned on the light and nearly dropped my bottle. There was a cockroach right in front of me, one in the other corner, one on the ceiling and one on the window. Superfluously there was even a gecko in the corner up on the ceiling staring on me... That was way too much for me. So I just turned off the light and went to bed haha

Good Money

Phil and me helped his hostbrother in his garden on this sunny hot day today. I did not feel that fit this morning but it was good fun though. Earned 80$!! Sweet as!

Phil und ich haben an diesem heissem, sonnigen Tag seinem Gastbruder im Garten gehofen. Hatte mich an diesem Morgen zwar nicht soo ganz fit gefühlt, hat aber trotzdem ganz gut Spass gemacht. Habe 80$ verdient!! Geile Sache!

Rock jumping!

Today, on Sinan's 16th birthday, we went to the beach in the early midday, jumped in his pool afterwards and after that his hostfather had the idea of driving to the Lemington National Park to jump from a 5m high rock into the creek, what is pretty famous there. The Lemington Park is a rainforest area 20 minutes in the Hinterland of Gold Coast. Arrived there we walked 5 minutes to the creek, climbed up the rock and jumped in! The fresh water is incredible cold, so it was a big refreshment on this 30º Celsius hot day, although it was a little bit colder in the forest.It was a great fun, mate!

Heute, an Sinan's 16ten Geburtstag sind wiram fruehen Mittag ersteinmal an den Strand gefahren, sind dann in seinen Pool gesprungen und hinterher hatte sein Gastvater noch die Idee in den Lemington Nationalpark zu fahren, um von e

inem 5 Meter hohen Felsen in einen kleinen See zu springen, was dort ziemlich beruehmt ist. Der Lemington Park ist ein Regenwald Areal 20 Minuten Richtung Hinterland von Gold Coast. Dort angekommen, sind wir 5 Minuten zum Creek gelaufen, den Felsen hinauf geklettert und gesprungen! Das Frischwasser ist unglaublich kalt un

d daher eine absolute Erfrischung an diesem 30º Celsius heissem Tag, obwohl es schon ein bisschen kuehler war im Wald.

Hat auf jeden Fall Sauspass gemacht, alter!

Going out again!!

Finally i got a family, what goes out!!! I missed it so much in the last host family to go to restaurants. I went already 2 times with my new one. Great!

Endlich habe ich mal wieder eine Familie, die ausgeht!!! Ich habe es ja so sehr vermisst in meiner alten Gastfamilie mal in Restaurants zu gehen. Seit ich in meiner neuen bin, waren wir schon 2 mal. Geil!

Bayron Bay

This sunday we did a trip to Bayron Bay. My hostfamily and me started at about 8 o'clock in southern direction. Arrived in Bayron Bay we hadto change our watches as this town, although just one hour away, has got an other time zone! The weather was cloudy but it was still very warm. First we went to the light house on top of a hill and did a walk around the rocks, from where we could see whales and lots of dolphins. It is amazing to just take a look around the area and you see so great animals, you would never ever find in germany!!

ave some lunch and my hostparents drank a beer and a champaign. We sad next to the beach a

nd then we drove in direction to Broadwick Heads. Arrived in this tiny village with a big and beautiful river system, we hired a boat and dorve around for one hour. It was good to see some of the subtropical rainforest in this area. Jeremy jumped into the water, and Buddy the dog barked at him because he was jealous that he could not go hahaha. We came back at 4pm of Brisbane time and I met some friends at the beac

h yet. Love it!!!

Wir haben diesen Sonntag einen Ausflugnach Bayron Bay gemacht. Meine Gastfamilie und ich sind um etwa 8 Uhr morgens in Richtung Sueden aufgebrochen. In Bayron Bay angekommen, mussten wir erstmal unsere Uhren umstellen, da es, trotz einer nur einstuendigen Fahrt, eine andere Zeitzone hat! Das Wetter war zwar bewoelkt, aber trotzdem sehr warm. Ersteinmal sind wir zum Leuchtturm gegangen, der auf sich auf einem Huegel befindet, wo wir auch den Felsen entlang gegangen sind, von wo aus wir Delphine und Wale beobachten konnten. Es ist krass, einfach um sich zu schauen und Tier

e zu sehen, die man in Deutschland niemals finden wuerden!!

Anschliessend sind wir zur Hauptstrasse gefahren, um etwas Mittag zu essen und meine Gasteltern ein Bier und Champagner trinken wollten. Wir haben hinter dem Strand gesessen, und danach sind wir in Richtung Broadwick Heads gefahren.

Angekommen in diesem suessen kleinem Oertchen mit wunderschoenem Flusssystem, haben wir uns ein Boot gemietet fuer eine Stunde und

sind dem Fluss entlang gefahren. Es war ziemlich cool ein bisschen was vom subtropischen Regenwald zu sehen in diesem Gebiet. Jeremy ist ins Wasser gehuepft, und Buddy, der Hund, hat soo laut gebellt, weil er eifersuechtig war, dass e

r nicht hinterher durfte hahahah. Wir sind ca. um 16 Uhr Brisbaner Zeit zurueckgekehrt und ich habe noch ein paar Freunde am Strand getroffen. Liebe es!!

Awesome!!

This family is just awesome!! Gina, my hostmum is so good to me. She cares a lot and she makes me feel so comfortable and home here. Jeremy, my hostbrother is so happy to have a brother now, after they had so many girls! :P He is totally already used to me and so am I to him. We have got already kinda brother-relationship. Isabella my hostsiter is only 3 months older than me, so we are on one page. She seems cool and funny. Unfortunately she lives half the time at her father's house. Chris is the stepfather of both, and I think, as more as he sees you got similar opionions as him, you can become his best friend.I love it that they love to go out in pubs as well as my family and I do it. So we do things together, talk and have much fun. I am so happy tha

Diese Familie ist einfach toll!! Gina, meine Gastmom , ist so gut zu mir. Sie kuemmert sich so sehr um mich und laesst mich einfach hier wie zuhause und wohl fuehlen. Jeremy ist froh, endlich auch mal einen Bruder zu haben, nach all den Maedchen! :P Er hat sich schon an mich gewoehnt, und ich mich auch an ihn. Wir haben schon so eine Art bruederliche Beziehung. Meine Gastschwester Isabella ist nur 3 Monate aelter als ich, also verstehen wir uns super! Sie scheint wirklich ganz cool und witzig zu sein. Leider le

Change!

Today I told my hostparents about my plans to change... I told them that I enjoyed my three months here, treasure the freedom I had, that they washed my clothes and were always good to me. The only point I missed were the communication, as Bobby got his problems with english, Susan got to work the whole day, is tired, goes to bed and Dan is asleep the whole day but this is all understandable. But it's a big point, I miss. Over this I said, if I would not like them, I would have changed already after 3 days, not after quarter a year. She took it pretty well, said it is "totally fine". I am happy to have told them, and look forward to move to Gina now, who is such lovely!!! I visited her last sunday already, and she welcomed me so great! I think I will have so great 9 months over there. I already felt like home when she said "This is my new son. I will spoil him up from now!" :)))) Friday is the moving...

Heute habe ich meine Gasteltern über meine Pläne aufgeklärt, die Gastfamilie zu wechseln. Ich habe gesagt, dass ich meine 3 Monate hier wirklich genossen habe, die Freiheit die ich hatte zu schätzen gewusst und auch, dass sie mir die Wäsche gewaschen haben und dass sie immer so gut zu mir waren. Das einzige was ich nunmal vermisse, ist die Kommunikation, da Bobby seine Probleme mit dem Englisch hat, Susan den ganzen Tag arbeiten muss, nach Hause kommt, müde ist und ins Bett geht und auch Dan den ganzen Tag nur schläft, was aber verständlich ist. Aber es ist nunmal ein großer Punkt, den ich vermisse. Darüber hinaus meinte ich, wenn ich die nicht leiden könnte, wäre ich schon nach 3 Tagen gewechselt, nicht erst nach einem Vierteljahr.

Sie hat es ganz gut aufgenommen, meinte "das geht absolut klar". Ich bin froh, dass ich es ihnen erzählt habe und freue mich nun darauf, zu Gina zu wechseln, die so unglaublich lieb ist!!! Ich habe ihr letzten Sonntag schon einmal einen Besuch abgestattet, und sie hat mich sehr herzlich willkommen geheißen! Ich denke, ich werde schöne 9 Monate dort verbringen. Ich hab mich dort schon wie zuhause gefühlt, als sie meinte "Das ist mein neuer Sohn, den verwöhne ich jetzt". :)))) Freitag ist der Umzug....

Gold Coast 600!!

This weekend it was happening!! The Gold Coast 600, weekend full of racing cars, hot girls and loud music right in the town of Gold Coast at the Main Beach, Surfer's Paradise. We bought ourselves ticket for saturday. First we (Philipp, Thomas, Phil's Hostbrothers and me) took a walk around the circuit, where were lots of stalls with food and merchandising stuff. Music from everywhere, beer in everybody's hand, girls in short and tight shirts... a perfect day for a V8-Supercar race. Before this main event took place, some small races happened, e.g. the Indie-Cup and the Oldstar racing with historical cars which participated in the first Surfer's Paradise Race.

The fast cars just stunned you. As all the high buildings are along the racing track, there was a big echo. But anyway we could enjoy the day a lot. After the amazing races, with some crashes and awesome scenes, we went to the beach to eat some. We returned later to visit the concert on the evening. The main act tonight were the "Beach Boys"! Yeah, exactly, the old, famous and legendary Beach Boys. We had a lot of fun at this concert and we just went crazy haha. Although I didn't know much of the lyrics, I was hoarse at the end of the night.

mazing saturday, although I got sunburned a little bit ;)

Dieses Wochenende war es soweit!! Gold Coast 600 fand statt. Ein Wochenende voller Rennautos, heissen Mädelsund lauter Musik inmitten der Gold Coast, direkt am Main Beach, Surfer's Paradise. Wir haben uns Tickets für Samstag gekauft. Zunächst sind wir (Philipp, Thomas, Philipp's Gastbrüder und ich) einmal um das Renngelände gelaufen, der überhäuft ist mit Essensbuden und Merchandising Zeugs. Musik kam von überall her, jeder hatte seine Bierdose in der Hand, Mädels in engen knappen Oberteilen... ein perfekter Tag für ein V8-Supercar Rennen! Bevor dieses Hauptevent stattfand, gab es ein paar kleinere Rennen, wie z.B. das Indie Rennen, oder das Oldstar Rennen, indem die Autos um die Wette fuhren, die auch schon beim aller ersten Rennen durch Surfer's Paradise mitgemacht haben.

Die schnellen Autos haben einen regelrecht betäub

t. Da überall um die Rennstrecke die hohen Gebäude standen, gab es ein riesen Echo. Trotzdem haben wir den Tag in allen Zügen genossen. Nachdem Renntag mit einigen spektakulären Unfällen und aufrgenden Szenen, sind wir an den Strand um ein wenig was zu essen. Später sind wir aber zurück um das Konzert des Abends a

nzusehen. Der Hauptauftritt heut nacht waren die "Beach Boys"! Yeah, ganz genau, die alten, berühmten, legendären Beach Boys! Wir hatten unglaublich viel Spass auf diesem Konzert und sind einfach nur abgegangen haha. Obwohl ich nicht viel Text wusste, war ich am Ende des Abends heiser.

r, war es ein toller Samstag, obwohl ich mir einen kleinen Sonnenbrand geholt habe ;)

Sailing

This thursday my Marine Studies class went sailing to Broadwaters. It was not the best weather, but still alright, not too cold, but gray. Anyway we got seperated in 4 groups. The first 1.5h two groups went on 2 huge sailing boats, in groups of 8, the other 2 groups went on small ones with 2 persons per boat. The huge one was harder to control, but you got much faster and you needed at least three people for turning.

On the small boats we were only two persons, whereby only one guy had to do something, the other one could chill. After one hour, a lift by a boat our instructor decided to make us falling into the water. After making us wet already the whole day by his motorboat , he said, that we should try a turn by hanging out on the mast... and, of course, our boat capsized. Well, it was pretty easy to turn it up again, but up from now, we were wet :D

Diesen Donnerstag ist meine Marine Studies Klasse nach Broadwaters Segeln gegangen. Es war zwar nicht das beste Wetter, aber immer noch ganz okay, nicht zu kalt, aber grau. Wie auch immer, haben wir uns in 4 Gruppen geteilt. Die ersten anderthalb Stunden sind 2 Gruppen auf zwei große Segelboote gegangen, je zu 8, die anderen 2 Gruppen auf kleine Boote, worauf ebenfalls je 2 Personen passten. Das große war natürlich schwerer zu lenken, aber man war auch dementsprechend schneller und man brauchte mindestens 3 Leute um das Schiff zu lenken.

Auf den kleinen Booten waren wir ja nur zu zweit, wobei nur einer was zu tun hatte und sich der andere schön gemütlich zurücklehnen konnte. Nach einer Stunde und einer Mitfahr- (bzw. Mitzieh-)gelegenheit hat sich unser Instructor dazu entschlossen, uns reinfallen zu lassen. Nachdem er uns schon den ganzen Tag mit dem Motorboot nassgemacht hat, meinte er wir sollten eine Wendung versuchen, indem sich einer an den Mast hängt... und, natürlich, ist unser Boot gekentert. Naja, es war zwar einfach, das Boot wieder umzudrehen, aber von nun an waren wir nass :D

Wet'n'Wild - Tricks against the coldness

Today we had a nice day here, totally sunny, not one cloud on the sky. Anyway, we had only 20°C. But we chose to go to Wet'n'Wild again, the big water park.

After some rides we were really freezing and so we need to find a warm place. Unfortunately the Jacuzzis were closed today... so we just laid down on the concrete ways, which were really warm and heated up by the sun. We laid there for probably half an hour, just to get warm haha.

After this we chillaxed on the big pool, but took all nearly possibly rides on this day.

Heute war hier echt ein schöner Tag, komplett sonnig, nicht eine Wolke am Himmel. Trotzdem waren aber nur 20°C. Dennoch haben wir uns entschieden nochmal nach Wet'n'Wild, dem großen Wasserpark, zu fahren.

Nach ein paar Rides war uns dann so kalt, dass wir unbedingt einen warmen Platz finden mussten. Dummerweise waren die Whirlpools geschlossen heute... also haben wir uns einfach auf einen Betonweg gelegt, der von der Sonne total aufgeheitzt und warm war. Wir lagen da so bestimmt für eine halbe Stunde, einfach um uns aufzuwärmen haha.

Danach haben wir noch ein bisschen am großen Pool chillaxed, haben aber trotzdem fast alle möglichen Rides an diesem Tag genommen.

Garden Labour and Carrara House-Party

This beautiful, sunny saturday morning I helped Greg and Phil some in the garden. We started like 9am and first of all we put some new soil in an area of about 2 times 4 qm and after this we filled it up with lots of stones. After that we had to cut two trees, put the waste to the trash tip and cleaned the way in front of the house. When everything was done, Phil and me jumped in the pool, while Greg put some sausages on the bbq.

On the afternoon, we met some friends on the beach, relaxed and went to the biggest houseparty I've had here down under on the evening. It was in Carrara, the absolutely Beverly Hills of Gold Coast.

We had a lot of fun there ;) Especially on the way home haha

By the way, I earned 50$ for the garden labour... not bad ;)

Diesen schönen, sonnigen Samstagmorgen habe ich Greg und Phil ein wenig im Garten geholfen. Wir haben so um 9 Uhr angefangen, und anfangs erstmal auf eine Fläche von ca. 2 mal 4 Meter neue Erde und unendlich viele Steine aufgehäuft. Danach mussten wir noch 2 Bäume fällen, haben die Reste auf einen Hänger geladen, sie zur Müllhalde gefahren und nachher noch die Auffahrt sauber gemacht.

Nachdem alles geschafft war sind Philipp und Ich in den Pool gehüpft, wären Greg ein paar Würstchen auf den Grill gelegt hat.

Nachmittags haben wir uns an den Strand gechillt mit ein paar Freunden, relaxt und sind abends auf die dickste Houseparty gegangen, die ich bisher Down Under hatte. Sie war in Carrara, was quasi das Beverly Hills der Gold Coast ist.

Wir hatten krass viel Spass dort ;) Besonders auf dem Rückweg haha

Übrigens habe ich mir 50$ durch die Gartenarbeit dazu verdient... nicht schlecht ;)

M Factor!!

Referring to the very popular show in Australia "X Factor", our School, the Miami High, created a very similar event. It's simply called the "MFactor". It was a lot of fun, with some funny, but also some really good and incredible impressive performances. There were for example some really ambitious dancer, some really talented singer with an angel's voice, but also a group of guys dancing in a funny way and stripping hahahha.

The Great Hall, where the Assemblies normally are,

was made up so nice. It could have been the real spot for a tv show. A really nice evening, I never expected a school could make such a funny and entertaining show... And by the way, Krista and Leah entertained as well haha

In Anlehnung an die in Australien unglaublich beliebte TV Show "X Factor" hat unsere Schule, die Miami High, ein ziemlich ähnliches Event kreiert. Es heisst einfach "M Factor". Es hat wirklich Spass gebracht, mit einigen witzigen, aber auch wirklich guten und unglaublich beeindruckenden Auftritten. Zum Beispiel gab es einige wirklich ambitionierte Tänzer, einige wirklich talentierte Sänger mit einer Stimme, die Gänsehaut macht, aber halt auch zum Beispiel eine Gruppe Jungen die witzig getanzt und gestrippt haben hahahha.

Die Great Hall, wo normalerweise die Schulversammlungen stattfinden, war unglaublich gut ausgebaut. Es hätte die tatsächliche Kulisse für eine TV Show sein können. Ein wirklich netter Abend, wobei ich nie gedacht hätte, dass eine Schule so eine witzige und unterhaltsame Show auf die Beine stellen konnte. Und ganz nebenbei waren Krista und Leah auch ziemlich unterhaltsam haha

Rain Rain Rain

If you wonder, why I don't post much in the last days... here is the reason: Since the holidays started, what was like 5 weeks ago, Gold Coast got really much rain. I don't know why, but I think we only had 5 sunny days in this period. So we can not do much, go to Robina or Pacific Fair sometimes or just watch DVDs. Hope it's gonna be better ;)

Falls ihr euch fragt, warum nicht mehr viele Posts in letzter Zeit kommen... hier ist der Grund: Seit die Ferien angefangen haben, was vor ungefähr 5 Wochen war, regnet es ziemlich viel an der Gold Coast. Ich weiss auch nicht warum, aber wir hatten in dieser Zeit nur ungefähr fünf sonnige Tage. Daher können wir nicht viel machen, ausser ab und zu mal nach Robina oder ins Pacific Fair oder tausende DVDs zu schauen. Mal hoffen, dass es wieder besser wird ;)

Nice timetable

Finally I got a pretty nice timetable... First I changed the bloody subject "Futures" into "Marine Studies", where we will go sailing this term... Over this we surf on thursdays and play beach volleyball on mondays in Physical Education. That's really nice. The other subject Hospitality is actually fun too, though I am not a talent in cooking haha. Maths is sooo easy, and English is also really nice. ESL (English as second language) is like our English in 5th grade in Germany... Oh god, will I get the school back in Germany yet?? Haha, but first I'll enjoy my easy going time here... ;)

Oh, yeah, I forgot that I also got surfing wednesdays... the Surf lessons for internationals... uuuuuuuh

Endlich habe ich auch einen ganz geilen Stundenplan... Zunächst einmal habe ich das verdammte "Futures" in Marine Studies geändert, wo wir diesen Term segeln gehen werden... Darüber hinaus habe ich jetzt Dienstags surfen und Montags Beachvolleyball in Physical Education. Das ist echt hammer. Hospitality macht eigentlich auch Spass, obwohl ich gar kein Talent in der Küche habe haha. Mathe ist zuuu einfach und English ist auch ganz fresh. ESL (Englisch als Zweitsprache) ist wie unser Englisch in der 5. Klasse... Oh Gott, ich frage mich wirklich ob ich in der Schule dann in Deutschland noch klar kommen werde?? Haha, aber erstmal geniesse ich die Einfachheit hier erstmal... ;)

Ach ja, Mittwochs habe ich ja auch noch Surflessons für Austauschschüler... huuuu

Holidays are over

The first australian holidays I'Ve ever had in my life are over. Actually I had two really nice weeks, with surfing like everyday, watched heaps of DVDs, had fun in Wet'n'Wild, a nice and interesting day in Australia Zoo, a pleasant visit from Cairns and one or two nice parties ;).

Unfortunately the weather was pretty bad, with lots of cloudy days and rain on the first and last weekend. But nevermind ;)

The next term lasts only 7 weeks. After those short period of school I expect 2 months of summer holidays, including Schoolies ;)

Die ersten australischen Ferien, die ich je in meinem Leben hatte, sind nun vorbei. Ich hatte eigentlich zwei wirklich schöne Wochen, mit fast täglichem Surfen, dem Schauen von zig DVDs, hatte Spass in Wet'n'Wild, einen geilen und interessenten Tag im Australia Zoo, einen netten Besuch aus Cairns und eins oder zwei ganz nette Parties ;).

Leider war das Wetter schon ziemlich schlecht, mit vielen wolkigen Tagen und Regen am ersten und letzen Wochenende. Aber was solls ;)

Der nächste Term dauert eh nur 7 Wochen. Nach der kurzen Schulzeit habe ich dann 2 Monate Sommerferien, inklusive Schoolies ;)

A Walk in the Clouds

Cheryll, Phil's Host mom is 2 months in europe. So there is a man household over there right now. Greg bought already things like a pizza oven and other stuff haha. One time, when Cheryll was away, Greg bought a motor bike for 8,000$, just because he found the money in the house hahahaha.

Yesterday we(Greg, friend of him, Philipp, me) had a bbq, drank some drinks and ate a steak on the veranda. After that we wanted to watch a movie, but we only had a really really girl's film... and so, we 4 men, watched a love dramatic hahahha! (A Walk in the Clouds)

Cheryll, Phil's Gastmutter ist 2 Monate in Europa. Also herrscht da zur Zeit der totale Männerhaushalt. Greg hat schon so geile Sachen wie einen Pizzaofen gekauft haha. Einmal, als Cheryll weg war, hat Greg gleich mal ein Motorrad gekauft für 8.000$, nur weil er das Geld im Haus gefunden hat hahaha.

Gestern hatten wir (Greg, Freund von ihm, Philipp, ich) ein BBQ, haben bisschen was getrunken und ein Steak auf der Veranda gegessen. Danach wollten wir einen Film schauen, hatten aber nur einen absouluten Frauenfilm... und so haben wir 4 Kerle tatsächlich ein schnulziges Liebesdrama geguckt hahahaha! (A Walk in the Clouds)

Australia Zoo

Here we go to Sunshine Coast, to the Australia Zoo, the place where Steve Irwin † used to work. It took 2 h by car to come here, as the Pacific Motorway was pretty busy. But it was worth it. The Australia Zoo is pretty big, built and designed really nice and all characterized by Steve Irwin, the great Crocodile Hunter.He used to work here and performed his world famous crocodile show. Sadly he had a fatal accident with a Sting Ray couple of years ago.

Since this accident his whole family, including his wife, little son and little daughter assumed his crocodile show. It was spectacular, as they feed a big dangero

us crocodile with meat and show some great tricks with it.

It was actually strange seeing the family of a dead man doing the same what he did die for. Especially the children, who are in the age of about 6 and 12.

Anyway we had nice weather and a really great day. I really enjoyed!

Also ging es auf zur Sunshine Coast, zum Australia Zoo, dem Ort, wo Steve Irwin † gearbeitet hatte. Wir haben mit dem Auto 2 Stunden dorthin gebraucht, da der Pacific Motorway ziemlich voll war. Aber das war's durchaus wert. Der Australia Zoo ist ziemlich groß, sehr schön gestaltet und steht ganz im Zeichen von Steve Irwin, dem großen Crocodile Hunter.

Er hat hier früher seine weltberühmte Krokodilshow zum Besten gegeben. Traurigerweise hatte er vor ein paar Jahren einen tödlichen Unfall mit einem Teufelsrochen.

Seit diesem Unfall übernahm seine Familie, mit Frau

, kleinem Sohn und kleiner Tochter seine Show. Es war schon spektakulär wie sie das große, gefährliche Krokodil mit Fleisch gefüttert haben und eini

ge Tricks durchzogen, dennoch war es irgendwie eigenartig die Familie eines toten Mannes genau das machen zu sehen, weswegen er sein Leben ließ. Besonders mit den Kindern, welche gerade mal ungefähr 6 und 12 sind.

Wie auch immer, wir hatten tolles Wetter und einen super Tag! Ich hatte Spass!

Wet'n'Wild

As the weather seemed really good this morning, we decided to go to Wet'n'Wild, a theme park only with waterslides! It was an amazing day, there are slides like the Tornado, what is actually a big hopper, there are slides with Mach 5 and the newest one is also the best: A loop! It's sick, you stand inside a capsule with a trapdoor and after the countdown you fall just straight down, until you make a looping. Hahahahha great! Unfortunately the weather turned worse, so we went home at 3 o'clock. I felt asleep in the bus and we exit at Pac Fair first, as Phil wanted to watch for a new phone after he lost his iphone yesterday :(

Da das Wetter ziemlich gut aussah morgens, haben wir uns entschieden nach Wet'n'Wild zu fahren, einen Themepark nur mit Wasserrutschen! Es war ein geiler Tag, es gibt Rutschen wie den Tornado, was im Prinzip ein riesiger Trichter ist, da gibt's Rutschen mit Mach 5 und die neueste ist gleichzeitig die Beste: Ein Loop! Es ist so sick, man steht in einer Kapsel mit Falltür und nach einem Countdown fällt man einfach gerade runter bis man einen Looping macht. Hahahahhaa geil! Schade, dass das Wetter schlechter geworden ist und wir so um 15 Uhr nach Hause sind. Ich bin erstmal im Bus eingeratzt und dann sind wir am Pac Fair ausgestiegen, da Phil nach einem neuen Handy gucken wollte, da er gestern ja sein iPhone verloren hat :(

Visit from Cairns

This weekend came Jessica to me. We know us from Singapore and were really looking forward to those 4 days. She arrived here saturday morning and left on tuesday morning. Unfortunately she chose the only rainy weekend since my arrival, so we could not do that much. But it was really nice anyway ;)

Das Wochenende kam Jessica zu mir. Wir kannten uns schon aus Singapur und haben uns schon auf diese 4 Tage gefreut. Sie ist hier Samstagmorgen angekommen und Dienstagmorgen wieder geflogen. Dummerweise hat sie sich das einzige regnerische Wochenende seit meiner Ankunft ausgesucht, wodurch wir nicht so viel machen konnten. Trotzdem war's sehr schön ;)

Goodbye Sydney

After sleeping a little bit longer (till 9am), we started our day with the Sydney Tower. It's about 304m high and you've got a great view over the whole city and big parts of the country side. Just amazing. I can not explain this view,you need to see it.

After this we went shopping a litt

le bit, went to the harbour the last time and that was already Sydney!

Nachdem wir ein bisschen länger geschlafen haben (bis 9 Uhr), haben wir unseren Tag mit dem Sydney Tower gestartet. Er ist ungefähr 304m hoch und von dort oben hat man so einen tollen Blick über die ganze Stadt und viele Teile vom Umland.

Einfach atemberaubend. Man kann diesen Blick nicht erklären, man muss ihn sehen.

Hinterher sind wir ein wenig Shoppen gegangen, noch ein letztes Mal zum Harbour gegangen und das war dann auch schon Sydney!

Eine nette, wunderschöne Stadt, die aber nicht so belebt ist wie ich dachte. Modern, der schönste Hafen überhaupt und wunderschön.

Ich hab's jedenfalls genossen!

A day in Blue Mountains

What for wonderful mountains. The eucalyptus oil from all the eucalyptus trees there makes the air blue, what gives the mountains the name.

On some points you have such a great view, on the other side of the mountain is rainforest.

It took 2-3h by car to get there, but we had a really funny tour

guide. We were like 12 people in the group, took some short walks to lookouts, one long walk

through the half rainforest, down the mountain in the valley, up with the steepest gondola in the world, with 58°.

After this our guide told Phil and me to eat the kangaroo with noodles

here... and we did! It is so delicious. Kind a mix of liver a

nd beef. Really tast

y! Another point ticked on my list for Australia hahahahah.

After the trip we drove back to Sydney, with a slight detour to the olympic park, what is really modern and still used very much! Remember, the games were there 10 years ago.

In the evening we all went eating Dinner in China town, and saw "The other guys" in cinema.

Was für geile Berge! Das austretende Öl der Eukalyptusbäume dort, macht einen blauen Dunst, was den Bergen ihren Namen gibt.

Von einigen Punkten aus man hat einen wunderschönen Blick, auf der anderen Seite der Berge ist Regenwald. Es hat 2-3 Stunden mit dem Auto gedauert, ab

er wir hatten einen echt witzigen Führer. Wir waren um die 12 Leute in der Gruppe, haben ein paar kurze Gänge zu Aussichtspunkten gemacht, eine lange Wanderung durch den Halbregenwald, die Berge runter in das Tal, wieder hoch mit der steilsten Gondel der Welt, 58°.

Hinterher hat unser Tourguide Philipp und mir geraten, dass Kangäru mit Nudeln hier zu probieren... und wir haben's getan! Es ist so sau lecker. Irgendwi

e ein Mix aus Leber und normalem Beef. Echt lecker! Nächster Punkt auf meiner To-Do List für Australien abgehakt hahahahaha.

Nach dem Ausflug ging's zurück nach Sydney, mit einem

Abstecher zum Olympiagelände, was extrem modern ist und noch immer viel genutzt wird. Zur Errinerung, die Spiele waren dort vor 10 Jahren.

Abends sind wir zusammen nach Chinatown Essen gegangen, und haben den Film "The other Guys" im Kino gesehen.

Welcome to Sydney!

We arrived late on friday in beautiful Sydney. So we only went sleeping to be fit for tomorrow.

On saturday we got up at 7, went to town centre, where we joined a sightseeing tour by foot. The guy did the tour for free, he was really nice, and tol

d us a lot about the city. He showed us around and finally we arrived the harbour. To see this amazing, big and impressive opera house is a great feeling. It looks great architected and is a

diamond right in the harbour. Just on the opposite is the huge harbour bridge, which is breath taking big. Standing under it makes you feel like an ant. In the harbour district was a big market, with lots of great food, many peoples and a fashion show, with sooo nice models ;)

Philipp and me started an eating marathon there, watch

ed the model show, took some great pictures of the opera, took a massage and finally slept one hour right on harbour :D was nice ;)

After this Cheryll, Ray, Stefanie, Phil and me caught a ferry to a famous beach, what carried us along the sydney harbour with the skyline, opera and bridge in sunset.

Over there we had a nice dinner, took a ferry home and saw the same in night with all it's lights.

Freitagabend sind wir spät im wunderschönen Sydney angekommen. Also sind wir einfach direkt schlafen gegangen, um fit für den nächsten Tag zu sein.

Am Samstag sind wir um 7 aufgestanden, sind zum Town Centre gegangen, wo wir uns einer Stadtführung zu Fuss angeschlossen haben. Der Mann hat das umsonst gemacht, war sehr nett und hat uns sehr viel über die Stadt erzählen können. Er hat uns rumgeführt und sind schliesslich am Hafen angekommen. Dieses riesige, eindrucksvolle und wahnsinnige Opernhaus zu sehen, ist überwältigend. Es ist einzigartig designed und ein Juwel mitten im Hafen. Gerade gegenüber befindet sich die Harbour Bridge, welche atemberaubend riesig ist. Unter ihr zu stehen gibt einem das Gefühl, eine Ameise zu sein.

Im Hafenviertel fand ein Markt statt, mit viel hammer zu Essen, vielen Menschen und einer Modenshow, mit so heissen Models ;)

Philipp und ich haben da einen Fressmarathon gestartet, haben die Modelshow angeschaut, haben ein paar geile Bilder von der Opa aufgenommen, uns eine Massage gegönnt und schliesslich nochmal eine Stunde im Hafen geschlafen :D war nicht schlecht ;)

Danach haben Cheryll, Philipp, Ray, Stefanie und ich eine Fähre genommen zu einem bekannten Strand dort, welche uns entlang dem Hafen geführt hat, mit dem Opernhaus, der Bridge und der Skyline im Sonnenuntergang. Da drüben hatten wir ein leckeres Abendessen, haben eine Fähre zurück genommen und sahen das selbe noch einmal, eingetaucht in die Lichter der Nacht.

Sydney tomorrow

Wow, I still can't believe that my plain to Sydney leaves tomorrow!

I will pack my backpack after school, go to Cheryll and from there we (Philipp, Cheryll, Me) drive to the Airport and start in direction to Sydney on evening.

This means it was my last surfession for the next 4 days... :( But I have to fix the little whole in the nose anyway ;)

Sydney, I'm coming!

Wow, ich kann's immernoch nicht glauben, dass mein Flugzeug nach Sydney morgen startet!

I werde nach der Schule meinen Rucksack packen, zu Cheryll gehen und von dort aus werden wir (Philipp, Cheryll, Ich) zum Flughafen starten, wo wir am Abend Richtung Sydney starten werden.

Das bedeutet auch, dass das heute meine letzte Surfsession für die nächsten 4 Tage war... :( Aber ich muss ja sowieso das kleine Loch in der Nose reparieren.

Surf accident

Finally it happened, I hurted the first time by surfing! It was time to!

I had a really good ride one one of those awesome waves today and when I jumped off my board, it dived and jumped out off the water and hit me on the shoulder why it landed.

Brave as I am, I even surfed on. But now I can just hardly move my shoulder :D But never mind, the show must go on! Tomorrow are surf lessons in school again :D

Endlich ist es passiert, ich habe mir das erste mal beim Surfen weh getan! Wurde ja auch mal langsam Zeit!

Ich hatte einen echt guten Ritt auf einer dieser Wahnsinnswellen heute und als ich von meinem Board abgesprungen bin, ist dieses untergetaucht, aus dem Wasser gesprungen und auf meine Schulter geklatscht, als es gelandet ist.

Tapfer wie ich bin, habe ich sogar weiter gesurft. Aber jetzt kann ich kaum noch meine Schulter bewegen :D Aber halb so wild, die Show muss weiter gehen! Morgen sind wieder Surflessons in der Schule :D

Spätzle!

Philipp and me tried to cook Spätzle with cheese together... Well, already the dough smelled really really strange. After this we tried to cook it, the first time the water wasn't hot enough and we just had one big piece on the ground of the boiler, at the second time we even got it. We put some cheese on it and baked.

Well, there is one word describing the result pretty good. FAIL!

Philipp und ich haben uns zusammen daran versucht, Käsespätzle zu kochen... Naja, der Teig hat schon echt komisch gerochen. Danach haben wir halt versucht es zu kochen, aber beim ersten Mal war das Wasser nicht heiss genug und wir hatten nur einen dicken Klumpen unten im Kochtopff, beim zweiten Mal hat's sogar geklappt. Wir haben noch etwas Käse drauf gepackt und es dann gebacken.

Naja, da ist ein Wort, was das Ergebnis ganz gut beschreibt. VERKACKT!

Busrides!

A bustrip is funny... thought also Philipp and me when we wanted to go to Dreamworld on sunday (remember, we got the unlimited annual pass ;)). As it was already 12 o'clock, there was no Express bus from Burleigh anymore. So we had to drive to Pacific Fair, caught a bus in direction to Southport, exit at Australian Fair, took a bus to Helensvale Station, where we waited 30 minutes for the Dreamworld bus, who drove through every village and needed finally 45 minutes. All in all we were in bus 3 hours, until we arrived.

At Dreamworld we played one lap of Laser taking, took one ride and left already haha. At least we could take the Express bus home, what took only about 45 minutes. In this bus we met 2 really typical Australians from Cairns. Incredible nice, funny and open minded!

Eine Busfahrt, die ist lustig... dachten sich auch Philipp und ich als wir nach Dreamworld wollten am Sonntag (haben ja den unbegrenzten Jahrespass ;)). Da es schon 12 Uhr war, gab's keinen Expressbus mehr von Burleigh. Also mussten wir zum Pac Fair fahren, haben da 'nen Bus in Richtung Southport genommen, sind am Australian Fair ausgestiegen, haben einen Bus zu Helensvale Station genommen, wo wir 30 Minuten auf den Dreamworldbus gewartet haben, der dann auch noch über jedes Kleckerdorf gefahren ist und 45 Minuten brauchte. Zusammengerechnet sind wir 3 Stunden Bus gefahren, bis wir endlich angekommen sind.

In Dreamworld haben eine Runde Lasertaking gespielt, haben eine Fahrt genommen und sind schon wieder zurück haha. Zumindest konnten wir zurück den Expressbus nehmen, der dann nur 45 Minuten gebraucht hat. In dem Bus haben wir noch zwei echt typische Australier aus Cairns kennengelernt. Unglaublich freundlich, witzig und offen!

Highest Waves I've ever seen

Never seen that big, strong waves, over this the sea was really wild today. But surfing was so fun. Had my longest ride so far!

Habe noch nie in meinem Leben so hohe, starke Wellen gesehen. Dazu war das Meer heute echt wild. Aber das Surfen war ja so geil! Hatte meinen längsten Ritt bis jetzt!

The world is a village

Seriously, how probable is this. I got to know a guy couple of weeks ago and chilled some with him and saw him lots of times and today I got told who is his father.... In fact it's the doctor, who operated me in December on my knee!! I can't believe his son is in Australia in the same time, in the same town! Ha

Ganz im Ernst, wie wahrscheinlich ist das denn bitte. Ich habe vor ein paar Wochen 'nen Typen kennengelernt, bissl mit dem gechillt und habe ihn halt noch ganz oft gesehen. Heute habe ich erfahren, wer sein Vater ist... Das ist doch tatsächlicher der Doktor, der mich im Dezember am Knie operiert hat!! Ich fasse es einfach nicht, dass sein Sohn genau dann in Australien ist, wenn ich da bin, dazu noch in der selben Stadt! Ha

Dirtbiking

blessing in disguise! I did some dirt jumps with Sinan in Burleigh Heads, close to his house and it was really amazing, but one time I failed and had to brace myself with my leg. After this my knee hurt a lot... but I was lucky, because it was the calf what hurt, not my knee.... Buuh!

Glück im Unglück! Ich habe mit Sinan ein paar Dirtjumps in Burleigh Heads, nah zu seinem Haus gemacht, was auch echt geil war, aber ich habe einmal verkackt und musste mich mit meinem Bein abstützen. Danach hat mein Knie echt saaau weh getan... aber ich hatte Glück, denn es war im Nachhinein doch nur die Wade, nicht mein operiertes Knie... Puuuh!

Gold Coast United

On sunday afternoon I went to a soccer game of Gold Coast United with my host dad, brother and Sinan, Philipp and Thomas.The stadium is really nice, but shared with the Footie Te

am.

When I entered the stadium I was shocked. They opened only one stand, and even this wasn't sold out. There were like 1.200 people in a 25.000 people arena. That's sad for me as a German... My heart was bleeding :( It's a really fringe sport here Down Under.

And over this you don't get a fried sausage.. only fish and chips. Strange!

Unfortunately GCU even lost against Melbourne 0:1.

But it was nice anyway to spend this afternoon there.

Sonntagnachmittag bin ich mit meinem Gastvater, Bruder und Sinan, Philipp und Thomas ins Fussballstadion gegangen.

Das Stadion ist wirklich nicht schlecht, aber geteilt mit dem Rugbyteam.

Als ich das Stadion betreten habe, war ich echt geschockt! Die haben dafür nur eine Tribüne geöffnet, und nicht einmal die war ausverkauft! Es waren um die 1.200 Leute in einer 25.000 Leute Arena. Das ist echt traurig für mich als Deutschen... Mein Herz hat geblutet :( Das ist echt die absolute Randsportart hier Down Under.

Und darüber hinaus gibt's nicht mal 'ne Bratwurst... nur Fish & Chips. Echt eigenartig!

Unglücklicherweise hat GCU auch noch 0:1 gegen Melbourne verloren.

Aber ich habe den Nachmittag dort trotzdem genossen.

Sunday Morning Surf Session

Wow,

this was a sick session! Waves about the double high than me, lots of them (like 1 every minute), even not many surfers, sun... PERFECT!!

das war 'ne krasse Session! Wellen, die ungefähr doppelt so hoch waren wie ich, davon unglaublich viele (um die eine pro Minute), gar nicht mal sooo viele Surfer, Sonne.... PERFEKT!!

Brisbane

Murillo, Julia, Bea, Philipp, Thomas, Stefano, Sinan andme went to Brisbane this saturday. It's about one hour by train north of Gold Coast and a modern town with a population of 1 Million people. After we had to wait for the girls for one hour and ate lunch at Mcess we started to explore the town. As Stefano was there already a couple of times we were at least not completely without orientation :DBrisbane is a really modern town, with some nice buildings who look really styled but also with some older buildings, what means here they are built about 100 years ago.

After we shopped some we went through a nice park, saw a dead bat, enjoyed the very nice and sunny day, took some photos, went along the harbour, relaxed some and finally went some shopping again.

I met David, who I meet only in other countries (England, Singapore, Australia) but never in Germany hahaha. This ass has got a damn Iphone 4... so nice

;)

I guess we arrived home at 7 pm... and went to an old good Broadbeach

night afterwards.

Murillo, Julia, Bea, Philipp, Thomas, Stefano, Sinan und ich sind diesen Samstag nach Brisbane gefahren. Brisbane liegt ca. eine Stunde Zugfahrt nördlich von Gold Coast und ist eine ziemlich moderne Stadt mit ca. 1 Millionen Einwohnern. Nachdem wir eine Stunde auf die Mädels warten mussten und Mittag bei Mcess hatten, sind wir aufgebrochen die Stadt zu erkunden. Da Stefano schon ein paar mal hier war, waren wir immerhin nicht ko

mplett orientierungslos :D

Brisbane ist echt modern, mit einigen wirklich stylischen Ge

bäuden, aber auch gleichzeitig einigen älteren Gebäuden zwischendurch... obwohl alt hier so maximal 100 Jahre bedeutet.

Nachdem wir ein wenig geshoppt haben, sind wir durch einen netten Park gegangen, haben eine tote Fledermaus gesehen, haben den schönen, sonnigen Tag genossen, haben ein paar Fotos gemacht, sind den Hafen entlang, haben etwas entspannt und

sind letzendlich wieder ein bisschen Shoppen gegangen.

Übrigens habe ich David getroffen, den ich nur in anderen Ländern (England, Singapur, Australien) sehe, nur nicht in Deutschland hahahaha. Dieser Arsch hat echt ein verdammtes Iphone 4... so geil ;)

Ich schätze wir waren so um 19 Uhr wieder zuhause

und von da aus dann mal wieder einen guten alten Broadbeachabend gehabt.
